When I was reading this book, the characters seemed so realistic.. The book has alot of adventure and mystery. The storyline was very original. I have never read a story quite like this one. The descriptions of scenes were great. As a reader, you could visualize what the writer was talking about.. And it wasn't repitious.
I look foreward to reading the next.

No spoiler review As with most first time authors, the writing is not perfect and it is far from a masterpiece BUT what book is these days? The series has definite potential though, and the story line is mostly original. I like the way the author uses a diverse group of characters with their own personalities and quirks and brings them together in a unique way. This is definitely not a book for children. The main characters are magically inclined assassins (they only kill bad people) and there is strong language and adult situations. Nothing too graphic or gory though, so it's still appropriate for most 15 years and older. It's actually refreshing to see a new fantasy novel that doesn't end up being a knock-off of other, more popular young adult novels and is willing to keep characters as realistic as possible, given the circumstances. My only real criticism is that the story seems a little rushed, especially towards the end, but I am assuming that since this is only book 1 in the series that everything will be wrapped up in the books to come, which I look forward to reading. I give it four stars.
